This week's Scrapbooking Techniques with Tracy layout

We get lots of requests for masculine layouts as sometimes making girl or pretty pages comes much more easily to most of us. This week Tracy has listened and come up with a wonderfully textured masculine layout. This layout would be great for any Father's Day photos you may have, Granddad photos, heritage photos or outdoorsy photos.
Suitable for beginners as well as intermediate scrapbookers.

Copic Marker Classes for September!

Hi friends,

By popular request Copic Marker classes are back! This time we have condensed three information and technique packed workshops into two classes so you get most bang for your buck and time.

Copic Markers are beautiful for colouring stamped and drawn images and lettering. Come along and learn the specific marker techniques involved in getting great results using this fantastic colouring pen.




What you will learn at these two workshops:
All about Copic markers - pen basics. Choosing papers and inks. How to test papers and inks. Basic colouring including FOUR blending techniques.
Using the Colourless Blender - Highlights, fading to white, fixing mistakes, patterns. Mixed media effects.
Considering light in basic shading. Hair techniques, skin techniques.

Full colour handouts for the entire workshop is provided as well as paper materials and images.

Dates available: Two part class series.
Daytime: Wednesday 7th Sept and Wednesday 14th Sept 10am - 12noon
or Evening: Thursday 29th September and Thursday 6th October 7pm - 9pm
Class fee: $20 per class ($40 total) plus $5 for Clear file binder or you can bring your own. Materials excluding pens provided.
Materials requirement: Scissors & adhesives, Pen Colours: R00 Pinkish White, R02 Flesh, Y00 Barium Yellow, Y02 Canary Yellow, 0 Colourless Blender, Copic Multi Liner Black in size .5

Please bring any Copic markers you already have in your collection. Recommendations for skin and hair colours will be given which you may wish to purchase before Week Two class. Some store markers will be available but you will need to share.

Please name your markers before bringing them to class. I found typing and printing my name on the computer, cutting them out small and covering the label with sellotape to be a neat way of labeling.

New Stampington Magazines in today

The latest issues from Stampinton have arrived. Digital Studio has really caught my eye with its beautiful fantasy feature. Time to sharpen up my photoshop skills!

Take Ten as always are full of card samples. Almost 300 to be exact. Best thing about these cards are they straightforward nature of them. Create a greeting card in 10 minutes or less!

This one is coming home with me too. The article that has especially caught my eye is the one by Angela Cartwright. If her name sounds familiar its not only because she makes lovely mixed media art regularly for Stampington but also because she was a child star in Lost in Space and The Sound of Music (my little name dropping includes meeting her at an art retreat in the US a few years ago.. hehe). In this article she speaks of her sisters acting role in the movie The Birds ...even includes a picture of her baby brother sitting on Alfred Hitchcocks lap! I'm looking forward to devouring this magazine for that alone. Fascinating.

Introduction to Scrapbooking photo highlights

Hi friends,
Lots of new scrapbookers have been joining us for the past few weeks in some special Introduction to Scrapbooking workshops. Luckily roving reporter Els was on hand with her handy dandy camera!

This is a three part series of classes aimed at the new scrapbooker. Our next one starts in two weeks with two time slots available. Tuesday 13th September at 7pm for three consecutive weeks or Wednesday 14th September at 10am also for three weeks.
