New magazines, Thursday scrapbooking and more! Hi everyone, It is back to a bit of routine for those of us with school aged children.  As you can see from the photo above the School Holiday Program participants had a very productive and fun time creating scrapbook layouts (and at other classes, off the page projects).  Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a success! This layout class is back!  So if you missed it the first time round join us as we create this pretty layout. With lots of texture, inking and detail, this week's  Scrapbooking Techniques with Tracy layout is a delight to make. Fresh combination of patterns and dimension and being able to choose your own paper colours   this layout would suit photos of all sorts.

School Holiday Program underway - Spaces available!

Child scrapbooking fun! Hello everyone, What a wooly start to the school holidays!  I live by the bush and I tell you everything is wet wet WET!  Pretty sure it will stay that way until September...  needless to say it is definitely an indoor holidays.  So if you and your school aged children are starting to feel a bit housebound, grab a brolly and head on down to one of our school holiday workshops.  Just $15 to attend which includes all materials and morning tea.  Great value! Here is the line up for the next week and a half:

Thursday 5th July - Slide border layout Slide Border Layout: Bring your photos along for this simple but stylish border layout.  Alternative colour and creative embellishment options available.  Choose your title to suit your photos.  A great addition to all albums.

Monday 9th July - Birthday bunting layout Birthday bunting layout: This bright fun layout is great for party photos!  Don't worry if your photos are a different theme, with a title modification and paper changes you can have a stunner layout with what ever photos you bring.

Tuesday 10th July - Decorated box and stamped cards Decorated Box and stamped cards: Our off-the-page project for the week is this cute handmade folded box.  With its own lid children can decorate with flowers, ribbon, lettering and patterned paper as they wish ready to be filled with special treasures.  To follow Leanne will be showing the children how to make stamped cards to take home.

Thursday 12th July - Pinwheel layout Pinwheel Layout: Choose your papers and embellishments to personalize this super cute layout.  Leanne will be teaching the children to make their own pinwheel border.  Bring photos to create this neat page.

Workshops run from 10am - 12.30pm and include morning tea. Suitable for school aged boys and girls. Children eight years and under require an adult to stay for the duration. NEW Tonic geared border punches New Tonic Border Punches: Tonic have a new range of lovely border punches that are quite unique!  With internal gearing even punching through card is a breeze.  There are a selection of punches available some of which make lace strips rather than borders ready for inking and adhering to your craft projects.  Seems these punches have had quite an interest in the UK with cake decorators.  Create your own paper tissue cake wraps and metallic lace ribbons - great idea!   By the way, we have an excellent range of Tonic products - high quality crafting tools.

FREE Technique Demonstrations all day All Day Technique Demonstrations: Have you seen rubber stamps, paper distressing tools, sewing punches and other interesting tools in store and not really known what they do and why you would even want to try them?  This Saturday you can find out why these methods are so awesome as we are getting back to basics with rubber stamping, paper distressing, Slice Machine cutting and paper stitching.  You are invited to come along during the day to watch and try these techniques.  Give it a go and learn something new.  FREE! Daily workshops & activities, something for everyone!

Hello everyone, How is your week going?  Talk about a wild week weather-wise.  I got caught in my car during one of those gusty downpours and I felt like I should hold onto my safety belt and I was parked in the car park!  Where ever you are in the country I hope you are keeping well, warm and dry. Its been a busy week here at NZ Scrapbook with lots of classes and events lined up for you to enjoy.  Before we get to that you may have noticed a snazzy new look to our email newsletter.  If you have a couple of minutes please take the time to update your details by clicking the link at the end of this email.  Our hope is to keep you informed and inspired with regular updates and with this new format a little more clarity than previously available.  Wish me luck with the techy learning curve! So without any more fluffing about let's get to the classes.  The next six days are JAM PACKED with classes and activities for you, your friends and your children to enjoy including FREE technique sessions on Saturday. Beginners Workshop Wednesday 27th June at 6.30pm If you have been thinking about trying scrapbooking or have just dabbled a little on your own and feel like you need some help getting started this is the workshop for you.  Designed with the complete newbie in mind your tutor Chantelle will lead you through creating a page.  This is the perfect time to ask questions and gain a little confidence as you step into the big wide world of scrapbooking! Scrapbooking Techniques with Tracy Scrapbooking Techniques with Tracy Layout for Thursday Thursday 28th June at 7pm (and repeated Monday 2nd July at 10am) Tracy's Thursday night technique workshop has been going from strength to strength in the last couple of months with high enthusiasm and record numbers.  We put it down to consistently good layouts and a great bunch of participants that make it good fun too.  This Tracy is doing something a little different this week using a pie tool template that fits A LOT of photos onto a page.  In fact this week it is a double page spread and we encourage you to bring at least ten photos that you are happy to cut, on a similar theme.  Ideas include lots of photos of one person or child, Christmas photos, holiday photos, parade photos, sports photos.  If you are not sure if you want to cut them then we can copy them for you and you can scrapbook the duplicates.  Class fee is $25 and includes the page kit.  Please bring photos, adhesives and your basic paper crafting tools.  Phone 09 912 0665 to book. Crop Night Thursday 28th June from 6pm until 10pm Ideal for working independently on your pages Crop Nights is making an appointment with yourself for uninterrupted scrapbooking time.  Using our spacious tables you can scrapbook and socialize while selecting items for purchase from the store if you choose.  $10 to attend and a great way to make new friends.  No bookings necessary. Mega Crop Night Friday 29th June from 6pm until Midnight Just like the Thursday night crops Mega Crop night is an excellent opportunity to scrapbook for the evening.  Being Friday night and a longer scrapbooking session Mega Crop night has a little more of a party atmosphere.  This week we are reintroducing the Mega Crop Make'n'Take which is a small project to create during the evening if you wish.  Also last week at one of our classes we had super toasty winter soup, it really was a bit of a treat so are including it this month at Mega Crop as well.  Since I'm (Kathleen) is the cook I'm tending towards Leek and Potato as I picked up a recipe from Simply Fresh this week and it looks super yum!  Fee for the evening is $15, please bring your current paper craft projects to work on and kit.  No bookings necessary. SATURDAY Technique Demonstrations This Saturday we are all about getting back to basics with techniques.  If you are self taught scrapbooker, cardmaker or just starting out it can be easy to fall through the cracks of basic and tool techniques.  Each technique demonstration session is FREE.  Cruise along to the technique demonstration that interests you, have your questions answered and give the technique a go.  This is not a Make'n'Take as such, more an opportunity to give something crafty new to you a try.
