Product Preview: Prima Fabulousness! Project Layout

Product Preview: Prima

Hi everyone,
This is our layout project for Wednesday nights Product Preview: Prima Fabulousness!

You are going to have a lot of fun making this layout, I know I did! ... pretty pretty colours, stitched papers, gems, stamping, flowers and check out that fantastic glittery embellished butterfly!

Please bring with you:
  • A photo 5" x7" or smaller. Portrait or Landscape rotation will work fine.
  • Your basic scrapbooking tools. Please include a ruler and pencil, fine tip scissors, paper trimmer (if you have one) and adhesives (both photo splits and something tackier like Glue Dots to adhere the embellishments)
  • Optional: Pinky rose felt tip pen and stamp pad. Any kind of inky pen will work to go around the edges of some elements. As for the ink I used Colorbox Rouge Chalk Ink. We will have some class ones available if you don't have a pink or other pastel coloured ink pad.

We have some spaces still available but this event is filling fast! Phone 09 912 0665 if you haven't already secured your place.

Wooohoo! Kaisercraft Q2 Launch party fun

Kaisercraft Q2 Launch Party was a fantastic success!

Here's how the night went in pictures...

There are six wonderful new collections from Kaisercraft, so we adapted six projects from the fab Kaisercraft Magazine so our participants could make a project with each. This photo shows our large upstairs class room with three project stations ready to go.

Each project had its materials prepared and ready so our participants could jump right in with the help of the station teacher. This is the Rewind station with its decorated notebook project.

Speaking of preparation, check out this sea of goodie bags! Each with a launch party project punch card. Thank you to our sponsors Horleys and Dewfresh who contributed to the cool gifts inside!

Diane headed up the busy decorated wood star from the Star wreath Project (from page 12 Kaisercraft Mag).

Mary's station made gorgeous decorated balls from the Lilac Ave collection (pg67)

Tracy led our participants through the layout project. (page 21)

Michelle taught the cool bookmark from the Pack Your Bags range (page 57)

And it was only fitting that David (my brother) taught the boy Rewind decorated notebook project (page 47). I wonder if he had any idea how full on teaching drive thru style is! David you did great :)

And for the sixth project I taught the super simple but very effective Gift Topper from the Dear Santa range (page 37)

Everyone did a fantastic job getting around all the projects

And still had time for shopping and party food!

All in all it was a very fun night, we have a big space so it was great to see it the whole place a hive of activity with more than 75 people!
Thank you to all our participants that made it such a blast, our sponsors and our team of teachers who did a fantastic job bringing it all together.

Don't forget, Kaisercraft Q2 collections are available now in store!

~Kathleen

Customer Projects: Great for the classroom!

I love seeing what you our valued customers come up with using our products. Even better when you find fun activities and uses of our class projects and make'n'takes when you get home.

This is one of our free Make'nTake's we did in store a few months ago:

... and then look what Lyndsay Dobbinson sent me in the email of what her classroom did at school...

How cool is that??!!! :)

Thanks for sharing Lyndsay and tell your classroom they did fantastic work!!

Product Preview: 7Gypsies Take Home Project

When I saw this great bird sample in the 7Gypsies Gallery I thought... oooh that would make a great Take Home project. The above photo is my sample and if you attended last nights fun Product Preview event you would have received a kit to make your own.

Hanging bird Kit instructions

  1. Place the stamped fabric on top of the gold crinkle fabric with the right sides facing out. Pin to hold secure.
  2. Hand stitch around the bird with the embroidery floss leaving an opening gap at the top of the bird.
  3. Stuff the bird with the stuffing included. Use a pencil or end of a paintbrush to stuff the wadding right into the corners of the tail and feet.
  4. Stitch the top of the bird closed, securing the ends of the pink ribbon at the same time to form a hanging loop.
  5. Using needle-nose pliers attach the charm to the bottom of your piece of bead chain and the top of your bead chain to one of the stitches at the base of the bird. Your bird is ready to hang.
