Disney for everyone!

Hi All and Happy Monday! Hope you had a fantastic long weekend.

One of the many things I love about being in our scrapbook store is seeing the amazing creativity that walks through our door each day. Yes walks! That creativity is you. Your scrapbook pages and crafts are an expression of your creativity (whether you think you are creative or not!).

So when our friend and customer Hillary Laker shared with us what she has been working on I simply HAD to show you! Hillary has been having a blast with the Disney Cricut Cartridges.

If you are new to scrapbooking the Cricut is an electronic die-cutting machine - simply put, the Cricut is a cutting machine combined with a cartridge (which stores the designs) that will cut images, shapes and lettering with the result of a professionally produced cut out image. You can adapt and modify to suit your project - and you can do this at home!

Hillary was too shy to let me take a photo of her but one thing she did say is how the Disney cartridges we making her feel like a kid again :) What I especially love about her layouts is that she didn't feel compelled to only using Disney cartridges for Disneyland photos or photos of a child/Disney theme. You will see many of the pictures are of different locations in New Zealand and Mickey and Friends seem to narrate her story.

I also love how she made the designs super huge on some of the pages. You can tell Hillary was having fun with this!

Hillary used:
Mickey & Friends Cricut Cartridge

Some of the fantastic designs on this Cricut cartridge.

Mix and match with your own fonts or combine with the Mickey Font cartridge for a complete Disney theme.

Thanks Hillary for sharing with us your wonderful pages and as Mickey and Pluto say in your last pictured layout (above) - "That was great!"

Byes for now

Product Preview: SEI "The Tourist Boxes!"

Hi Folks,
Yes, its that time again - time for another awesome Product Preview event! If you came to Product Preview: SEI "Chocooolatte Indulgence" you may remember me mentioning two very large and rather adventurous boxes that decided they would not come to NZ but instead make their way to Sweden, visiting with some nice men from Fedex who live in Stockholm. One box took in the sights of Paris and London...the other, well I don't know what happened with the other but eventually they did turn up on our doorstep. And just between you and me it was worth the wait! The YUM product in these boxes deserve a product preview all of their own! Words that I could use without giving toooooo much away are LUSH, RICH, TACTILE & Quirky, cute, clever!

Now I don't normally sneak a pic of the project you will be making but I just love these word albums (oops did I just let something slip??! heheee) and I just know you are going to have a great time making it! Soooo... this is the project you will make at Product Preview: SEI "The Tourist Boxes!"

PLUS an additional mini-project and a Take Home project too! Cost for this event is just $20 with the total value of products you will receive at over $30

The chocolate waterfall at Product Preview: SEI "Chocooolatte Indulgence" was such a hit we are having it again at this fun evening along with a bunch of prize draws too!

Product Preview Report: Basic Grey "Basically Breakfast" - Evening Edition!

Hello All!

Product Preview: Basic Grey "Basically Breakfast" The Evening Edition
was a great success! We had a wonderful group of Basic Grey fans who enjoyed checking out the new release products, getting to try it in their two Preview projects (plus a Take Home project!) and a yummy 'breakfast' of Waffles.

As always the evening is best summed up in pictures sooooo here's how the evening went down... trickski staff mischief and all!

The evening started with our usual routine - lucky participants arrived and were greeted with drinks as they checked in and picked up their name badges and layout pack before heading upstairs to the classroom to begin the evening activities.

In keeping with our Breakfast theme we had waffles with maple syrup, bananas and cream awaiting which our participants were invited to partake.

After everyone had their fill we started our presentation of the five new Basic Grey ranges:

Before long it was time to get into the heart of our Preview - the projects! First up, a layout using the Boxer range of papers.

With a photo of the completed layout and detailed instructions plus teacher direction our participants were away.

Now you would think I would know by now that if I request the lovely Paula to take photos of the evening I'm just ASKING for trouble... and not only that, she recruited a accomplice in the shape of my right hand gal Wendy!

So while everyone was all settled into their project creation these two little monkies disappeared with my camera in hand... well... see for yourself... :)

You should know the giggling from the stairwell gave them away. I DID let them finish their waffles before dragging young Wendy back for some (YAY!) prize draws!

Congrats Lynette on winning a selection of Sultry papers

Lesley was thrilled with her clear stamps

"Wendies!" Sigh. I tell her every time it's not going to have her name on it...

Congrats Irene!

Those Archaic Brads and Rub-ons are so cool. Enjoy & congrats Julie!

We completed up our layouts and there were so many great results.

Steph's black and white photos look fab.

Perfect beach photo.

Our mini project for the evening was a real treat - literally! These favour boxes were another hit. Love the little icecream cone tag - all from the Cupcake range.

We finished our evening downstairs browsing the new ranges and making a start on our Take Home Project.

Another fun night had by all. Special thanks to all who attended Product Preview: Basic Grey "Basically Breakfast" last week at our actual breakfast and this, our popular demand Evening Edition.

Thank you also to Linda (Mum!) who whizzied up the waffles and my great shop gurls (Shopgurls.RULE as we say around here) who work hard on the kits and preparations for these events... and generally keep me on my toes!

If you want to check out the complete lines of the Basic Grey Products be sure to pop in store or visit our website HERE

Until next time, Have a great week!
~Kathleen
