at Altered Book & Journal Club this month

Theme: Carnival

Hello everyone,

We have been having a lot of fun at our Altered Book & Journal Club/ Journal Crops lately.  Just last week our special guest Kim Ravenscroft inspired us with her extensive collection of journals. For the last 8 months or so at Altered Book & Journal Club in addition to sharing our recent artistic projects we have been doing a monthly Artist Trading Card Swap.  This has been a real highlight of the month!  This month we have had some spaces open up for new or previous participants to join in.

To participate:

1. Phone us here the store and let us know you will be joining the swap.  Limited spaces available phone 09 912 0665
2. Create 18-20 Artist Trading Cards on the theme Carnival.  Any interpretation is fine.  Cards must be 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and we usually recommend you do them the same or similar as making this many can take some time.  There are examples of Artist Trading Cards on our Blog HERE.  Don't forget to put your name, email, card theme (carnival) and give your card series a title on the back.
3. Bring them along to Altered Book & Journal Club Thursday 23rd August at 6.30pm where we will talk about our cards, share technique ideas and swap them amongst the group. You will get to take one of each persons cards home.  So cool!

Don't be afraid if you haven't tried Artist Trading Cards before.  We were all first timers once and our group is very friendly and informal.  Feel free to chat to Kathleen or one of our staff in store if you have any questions.
