Hello All
Monday night's Product Preview: KaiserCraft "An exotic gathering" can only be described as a visual and creative feast!
Inspired by one of KaiserCrafts latest releases Bohemian Threads and the HUGE diversity of their range we decided to embrace an exotic theme of a countries afar - primarily Turkey.
As our lucky participants arrived they were greeted with drinks and nibbles of Turkish Breads and dips...
Figs stuffed with walnuts, whole dates and Tahini dip...
and traditional Turkish Delight purchased from a very nice Turkish man at the Takapuna Markets. Who knew FRESH Turkish Delight come in such an array of varieties?! Well recommended.
As participants arrived we also enjoyed watching a very skillful Turkish dancing demonstration by the talented Rhea.
What doesn't show in the photos is how the rose petals on the floor flew up and blew around her as she danced. Beautiful!
This was then followed by a photo opportunity as we made our way up to the classroom.
First up, an overview of the range. So much to see and where to start? Paper ranges, rub-ons, wood products, felt, flowers, bling... and thats just for starters! Biggest ooohs and ahhs came from the FANTASTIC and FREE Workshop magazine KaiserCraft produce each month (pick up your copy in store) some of the lovely paper ranges (double-sided!), clear stamps (fantastic journaling frames) and not forgetting the UPROAR of delight when I announced a Bling gift taped under every chair!
Product Preview: KaiserCraft "An exotic gathering" also heralded the launch of our very own exclusive KaiserClub. We discussed the various benefits and how easy it is to be a member. In fact each participant at this event automatically became Founding Members - hehehe... with a snazzy red strip on their member card saying so! - small things make me happy! :)
If you weren't at our Monday night event stay tuned for a following Blog post on how you can easily become a NZ Scrapbook KaiserClub member.
On with the projects...
Since the Workshop magazine is so full of inspiration we chose one of their lovely layouts as our class project. The combination of rich oranges and turquoise really set off the warmth and vibrancy of our participants pictures.
While we were busy working away I didn't notice exactly HOW quiet it was downstairs...
PAULA!!!!
Not to worry... Prize draw time!
Pam was thrilled with her new clear stamps!
Wilma and Sarah - I know you will love using your prizes. I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Next we went onto our mini-project for the night - this simple but effective card. The red border is actually the reverse of this Bird Song paper. A rub-on word, paper flowers and gemstones plus a dash of ink to finish.
And then on downstairs to check out the range. It's like a whole KaiserCraft mini-store!
Whew! What a night. Thank you to all who attended and how you contributed with your enthusiasm. We love throwing these in store events for you and are very happy you are enjoying them too!
More Kaiser Craft fun stuff to follow...
~Kathleen
