Bisous Evening follow-up post

Hi All,
Here are the page samples from Wednesday nights Bisous Product Preview Evening.

For those who weren't present, my product demo was pretty much as follows....

Using PDQ Pages (Pretty Darn Quick!) by Bisous
The key thing about this lovely range of papers and chipboard products is that they allow you to work to what ever creativity and time you wish to your scrapbooking hobby. Each page has already got a great foundation for a attractive and interesting page.

This page is from the Regal range of Bisous papers. I was immediately drawn to the rich wine reds and strong blacks and greys - colours I use frequently and resonate well with me so I just had to start with that!

This is a complete PRINTED paper. Each element appears dimensional because of the shading and design that has been put into it. The doodling adds a real hand done quality to the page.

This is the above paper with just four photos added and my own handwriting directly onto the layout on the left and right sides of the page. This took only 5 - 10min to do with just the cropping of the photos and writing taking the time. This layout could now be inserted to an album and considered complete.

You can see with a series of these papers how you could complete an entire album in just an afternoon. A complete album of this sort would suit an occasion like this (wedding), or birthday or in the Tropical range a holiday since each page would not be needing a title explanation and each page would follow on easily from the previous.

Perhaps you like the layout and design of the paper but want to add a touch of your own personality and creativity? This example shows the same paper and layout but this time elements of the paper were cut with a craft knife and pop-dotted to create dimension off the layout. Chipboard lettering (Bisous) were added to create the title and finally gemstones, rub-on words, kindy glitz and journaling to complete. A pretty layout without the brain work of starting with a blank page.

Again this is the SAME patterned paper (it is! heheh), but this time used as a springboard of ideas. I like a messy grungy look so went with lots of ink and machine stitching to create this page. You will notice the same elements of paper rectangles and hearts cut out from the paper. I then turned the remaining paper over as Bisous paper is double sided and used some of the patterns from that side to create larger squares and rectangles. Each shape was then machine stitched onto the background. In fact NO ADHESIVE was harmed in the making of this page! I love my sewing machine with paper :)...okies so a wee willy bit of adhesive was used to tack a couple of items still while I stitched... but it didn't mind I promise! :)

Anyways I'm getting away from my point - You can make a completely UNIQUE page with these papers if you choose. Using the colours and combinations as a starting point for your own design.

Class Page: Biker Girl
Layout by Wendy Jones
Notes about this page
  • Both sides of this paper were used by cutting along a join line and flipping the top section over. Wendy wanted to make use of the floral section at the top as well as the stripes at the bottom. The page was rejoined and still able to use both sides by reattaching with the lettering for the title and other chipboard embellishments.
  • Edges of the photos and chipboard shapes were lightly sanded and inked with pink in to create a more unified result.
  • Simple tricks like inserting brads through the embellishments before sticking them down protects the back of the page from ugly metal prongs. This means the other side can be used for another layout.
Any questions welcome!

Byes for now and hope you are having a great Sunday.
~Kathleen
